Historic Ocean City Beach, is located on Topsail Island, a
26-mile long barrier island off the coast of North Carolina. Ocean City Beach is the perfect place for a family vacation or a romantic getaway. We are easy to find…..just look for the blue and white commemorative street signs.
Ocean City History
Having purchased land on Topsail Island, Attorney Yow shared his idea with Dr. Samuel J Gray, a Black physician in Wilmington.
Dr. Gray, feeling he could not devote time from his practice, approached his friends, the Chestnuts [Bertram, Wade, Robert and Louise (Johnnie Thompson)]

To preserve & amplify the history & improve the environmental, social & economic health of the OC community, support community self-reliance & enhance the quality of life for the residents through community-based problem solving, community-oriented services.
Ocean City Jazz Festival
The Ocean City Jazz Festival is the product of the community’s non-profit, the Ocean City Beach Citizens Council. It is a gala weekend of world-class jazz over the July 4th weekend.
Wade Chestnut Memorial Chapel
Worship services are held every Sunday, 11 AM, Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day weekend. The Wade H. Chestnut Chapel was built in 1957
